Remodeling your home can be a big investment – in both time and money – so it is important to choose projects wisely.

The return on investment (ROI) on home renovations depends on the location of the home, so it is important to pinpoint what is hot in your market.

For example, people in the South love new garage doors but those in the Midwest  prefer composite decks. Architectural Digest says that South Carolina sees many renovations done to accommodate senior citizens, probably because of the high number of retirees we seeing moving into this state.

While some projects have a higher ROI than others, those do not necessarily mean they are the best renovation for your home. It is important to consider the particular house and neighborhood before making decisions. The value of the remodel is also based on market confidence and how well the real estate market is doing in the current conditions.

A Minor Kitchen Renovation will bring about 83.1% ROI

A Bathroom Renovation will bring  about 65.7% ROI
