What's Happening in Charleston - October 2025 (Events)

October in the Lowcountry is full of festivals, theater performances, sports and more! Read on and then follow the link at the end for the full calendar and details.

For festivals, there’s the MOJA Arts Festival (until the 5th), Latin American Festival (5th), Riverfront Revival Music Festival (10th-11th), Oktoberfest Charleston (11th), 38th annual Children’s Day Festival (19th), and Charleston Beer Fest (25th). To celebrate the arrival of fall and Halloween, check out the Goose Creek Fall Festival (4th), Halloween in the Swamp at Cypress Gardens (16th-18th), Hollywood’s Fall Family Festival, the Festival at Kiawah River and North Charleston’s Harvest Festival (all on the 18th), Moncks Corner Halloween Festival (29th) and a Halloween Carnival (31st) on IOP, plus the month-long 29th annual Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch Festival and Fright Nights, a Haunted House at Holy City Brewing, Ghosts and Spirits Tours with Bulldog Tours. The Preservation Society also hosts the Fall Tours and the 2025 Coastal Carolina Fair begins on the 30th. 

Theatergoers can see Covenant at PURE Theatre, Dial M for Murder at The Dock Street Theatre and The Mousetrap at Queen Street Playhouse. John Cleese (2nd), Elvis Costello (3rd), Buena Vista Social Orchestra (10th), Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben (21st), Yes (22nd), Ranky Tanky (26th), and others are also performing here! 

Sports enthusiasts can watch the last few home soccer games of the season for the Charleston Battery and the first of the hockey season for The Stingrays, as well as partake in the IOP Connector Run (4th), Lowcountry Trail Run in Johns Island County Park (4th) and the Trick, Treat & Trail Family Fun Run & Festival in Wannamaker County Park (25th).
